The inspiring story of Siraj
It is all right to dream as long as one has the passion and dedication to pursue them and achieve them. Mohammed Siraj, had big dreams but scarce means to achieve them.
The story of Siraj: From a Gully Cricketer to Sunrisers to Royal Challenger Bangalore
· Siraj, son of an auto driver was born in Hyderabad. He was passionate towards cricket since his childhood.
· But due to the lack of money, he was not able to join a cricket academy, unlike other fortunate cricketers who were brought up in such an academic environment.
· Siraj’s father is an Auto driver who was following his god’s given work since 30 years. The whole family used to make their living only through his father’s income.
· He was not interested in studies, and hence he made his passion as his profession but not a profession as his passion. Yes, he was passionate towards cricket since his childhood.
· He was born in 1994, and till 2014 he used to play gully cricket with a tennis ball. Due to lack of money, he was not affluent to play except a tennis ball cricket.
· Seeing his hard work and his immense dedication, he was selected into Hyderabad’s local cricket club which brought a change for him and which stood as a turning point in his career.
· He was proving his worth in Hyderabad’s local cricket club and fortunately, he was called to be a player of ‘Hyderabad’s Under 23 team’. Seeing his skills, he was given a push as a frontline bowler within a less span of time.
· Now, his career was perfectly turned when he got an opportunity to play a single Ranji match during 2015–2016, Although he was able to take a wicket during that opportunity. This is the time he realised that he had to focus a little more in his bowling. Yes, it did pay off.
· Due to his determination and focus, he was given a chance again in next season of Ranji Trophy and yes by his hard work and by God’s grace he has proved his worth and he took 40+ wickets to his name. He said ‘this was only possible because of my captain’s belief and my coach’s help in shaping me up’
· Proving his worth in Ranji Trophy, In 2017, he was eyed by Hyderabad’s IPL Franchise ‘Sunrisers’. been signed by Sunrisers Hyderabad for a whopping amount of Rs 2.60 crore, Now playing for Royal Challenger Bangalore in 2018 IPL
All Roads that lead to success, have to pass through Hard Work boulevard at some point.
